Reporting live from Los Angeles California. The Zizek North American Tour, Spring 2008, officially starts today. We've got 7 shows in 14 days in 5 cities and it all starts off tonight in the mecca of the music industry, hipness and California cool, LA.
Tomorrow night we’re teaming up with the folks at Bersa Discos for Tormenta Tropical in San Fransisco, playing with DJ Rupture of all peeps, who is a huge Cumbia fan so we hear. After we’re headed to Austin TX where the industry gets together for what we heard is like a “Party Bootcamp” where the music and parties don’t stop for 5 days straight. Weve got 3 gigs lined up there, including an official SXSW showcase on Thursday the 13th.
After we fly to NYC to do La Mala Rodriguez’s unofficial afterparty at SOBs. We’re hoping she’s inspired to get up and spit some freestyle over some hot cumbia beats! This is the smallest venue of our tour so get there early or don’t get in! A couple days later we’re training it to Chicago, where we end our tour on the Spring equinox, March 21st. If you're around and wanna see what the hottest thing coming out of South America at the time is, don’t miss Zizek!
