All good things must come to an end. But luckily for us, the end of Niceto’s three part concert series “The Colombian Invasion” means the long awaited arrival of Systema Solar.
The series has brought us the birth of WUBA Radio, with our first show (listen below) inaugurated by an interview with Richard Blair and Erika Muñoz of Sidestepper, followed by a ferocious performance by Bomba Estéreo, which will be topped off this Saturday the 23rd by the musical collective Systema Solar.
Straight out of the Colombian Caribbean coast, the musical-visual collective is inspired in the tradition of the sound system (in Colombia referred to as “Pikós”), their concerts are an explosive mixture of video, dance and Afro-Caribbean sounds fused with breakdance, hip-hop, house, electro and scratch.
For a little taste of what’s to come, below is “Bienvenidos” the first song off of their self-titled album that will be launched alongside their show this Saturday at Niceto Club.
