Los Hermanos McKenzie will be hosting two concerts tonight (20) and next Thursday the 27th at the CC Matienzo, playing songs from their 2009 EP and a few tracks from their recent release “Siamés” before officially presenting the new album on the 2nd of December at Café Vinilo.
We first got a taste of the new McKenzie album about a month back when Nacho Czornogas (guitar, saxophone) sent us a sneak peak of their two singles, “Baile Fantasmal” and “Gua Gua Gua”. Fantasmal begins the album (which is now available for listening on bandcamp) with two smoky horns, the kind you´d expect to hear paired with a slinky young femme fatale in an old Hollywood noir film, before launching into a spacey ghost story led by the hypnotic voice of Cecilia Czornogas. The voice of Cecilia takes the album to a musical daydream filled with whimsical chanson, ethereal pop and just the right mixture of jazz and folk.
Don´t miss your chance to see los Hermanos play at the Matienzo, one of our favorite little venues in the city, tonight they´ll be playing alongside Lu Martinez, next week with Los Palos Borrachos.
Los Hermanos McKenzie are Nacho Czornogas (guitar, sax), Eric Brown (banjo), Cecilia Czornogas (vocals), Daniel Digon (drums), Marina Pérez (trompet, vocals)
